Check out this snow today…yes in April. It snowed like this for about 5-10 minutes, with no accumulations. However, snow is supposed to continue pretty much through the night. Some higher elevation areas could get 10-18 inches. I doubt that’s us, but we’d love it. Snow in April….crazy Colorado weather!

The Concert
David and I went to Denver yesterday afternoon for our first concert while living in Colorado. Last August we saw Cults there for their first show in the area. So when they came back to Denver last night, we had to go. The concert was downtown at a small venue called Bluebird Theater. The venue was very nice and we had a great time. Spectrals were one of the bands that opened for Cults. They were a band from England with a very interesting bass player as he loved to dance and jump around...very enjoyable band. Cults also put on a great show...we enjoyed being at the concert and hearing one of our favorites :) Here are a couple pictures I was able to snag.

New Adventures
Well all of our
visitors are now gone :( It’s back
to just David Lee and me. We had a
great time with Jeff and Melissa and packed everything that we could in in a
week. They arrived last Monday
into Denver. We all had dinner
that night at the Pullman.
Tuesday, I had to work, so David took them to GWS Adventure Park and then to Rifle Falls. Wednesday, was a day off for me…so we
hit up Loveland Ski Resort around Georgetown, CO. Now I know I said I was finished for the year. But, Melissa asked so nicely, offered
to assist me down the slops, and help me off the lift. She was a great teacher! I made it off the lift 4/7 times that
day, became much better at making turns than when I started, and completed a 2-mile
run. Loveland is a great ski area and great for beginners. They even have a couple of "real" bunny slopes great for practicing those turns. Super glad someone talked me into it because I had a great time. :0

The next day, David took
Jeff and Melissa to see the Colorado National Monument Park in Grand
Junction. They loved it and had a
great time. Friday, the four of us went on an adventurous bike
ride. Perhaps not the greatest day
for a 14-mile bike ride through the North Canyon. We knew it was windy, but it was tolerable until you get on
a back and try to pedal. We were
exhausted after the day was over.
Melissa and I were almost blown over at one point…winds were about 30
mph, perhaps more. Terrible day
for a bike ride, but we made the most of it and had a great workout. We were too tired to do much that afternoon, so the boys cooked burgers while Melissa and I watched a movie. Saturday, we headed to Denver. Took Jeff and Melissa to Marco’s
Coal-Fired Pizza in downtown.
Amazing pizza…we always have the wings and Margherita Pizza. Closest thing to real Italian pizza
there is! We had a great evening and hated to see it come to an end. Enjoy these pics of our bike ride...chances are high that we look wind-blown. :)

Time Flies When You're Having Fun
Wow…where have the last two weeks
gone?! David and I have enjoyed our company for sure. Mitchell and
Eric joined us in Colorado on Sunday March 18th followed by my
mom and aunt Toni on Tuesday March 20th. We had a great
time with them showing off the beautiful sights of Colorado. David
and the boys skiied a couple of days, checked out Aspen, and made it to the top
to see Hanging Lake and Sprouting Rock. I took mom and Toni to Rifle
Falls, Aspen, and around Glenwood. We also made it to Steamboat
Springs, CO. Years ago, my grandpa worked on some apartments there.
So we all wanted to see the town and maybe find the apartments he worked
on. We think we found them…maybe. Steamboat is beautiful and such a
neat little town. It’s a piece of work to get there…but worth
it. The slopes basically run right into town, so we stopped and
watched the skiers for a bit and envied the kids out there. HA! We also made it
to the Glenwood Hot Springs Pool – twice. It’s so very relaxing, so
I had two really great nights sleep. We all made the trip up the
mountain in the gondola to Glenwood Adventure Park. Up there we rode
the Alpine Coaster…I was very hesitant about this, but it was so much
fun. Mom and I were able to ride in the same car and had a blast :)
Everyone that came out was able to make it to Grand Junction to see the
Colorado National Monument Park. So glad everyone got to see it…it’s
amazing!
David’s friend, Jacob joined us Monday March 26th. We picked him up in Denver and made the trip back to Glenwood that
night. We all skiied the next day…Jacob’s first time and my second. I became a tad bit frustrated after falling getting off the lift a couple
times and a few more times on the way down the mountain. Jacob was great his first time and loved going super fast…sometimes
followed by a blunt fall-and-roll-stop. We
took him to see Colorado National Monument Park in Grand Junction as
well. That night we ate at Pullman here in town….Please go if you come
to Glenwood! It’s a treat in your mouth :0 The boys went back to the slopes at
Sunlight on Thursday…not me. I’ll try again next year
perhaps…but I’m done for this year. We made the return trip
east toward Denver Thursday evening to get Jacob closer to the airport. He caught his flight out of the Rockies Friday morning.
Friday evening Charlyn, Jenni, and their friend Jules joined us in
Glenwood. That night we had dinner at Six 89 in Carbondale…same owners as
Pullman and same treat in your mouth :) They had an evening of relaxation in
the Glenwood pool and hiked to Hanging Lake Saturday morning. David and I did some couponing Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed
getting all our great deals!
This week was my Spring Break…I can’t tell you how much fun it’s
been and how much I do not want Monday morning to come. However...Monday will bring Jeff and Melissa to
Colorado! More fun times and adventures right around the corner. Too bad work gets in the way…
Enjoy all these pics with our peeps :0
